I have the same problem of this user, and also try to solve with your intructions in frequently asks, but no have sold in ac3+ and now like to know if this user solve the problem.

well , I try with and whiteout down mix, also see the manual in frequently asked question, and no have a solution.
AC3, it is ok but the problem is with AC3+, here in Spain all TDT HD channel are ac3+.
without ac3+ support it´nt used.
I think is a driver problem, AC3+ works fine in spark and with other e2 firmware f.e: openspa, hyperion...

I know in Spain a lot of channels use AC3+
If you use an AVR with spdif or hdmi > this will mostly OK to decode. (some newer TV´s do it too).
If you use downmix for older TV´s or simple Stereo AVR´s > then you must use the alternative audio.elf on SH4 ( about 2,9 MB size )
This firmware ist able to play downmix with : DTS, AC3+, DD+ or EAC3.

ok, but in this case I understand what happened, I have a new 4k tv Lg 40uh630v, directly connect to my decoder, and with other firmwares work fine with the same connections.
I can try with the audio.elf, where I can find it?
