Please add in kernel configuration files (defconfig) CONFIG_TUN=m
That will create tun.ko which is needed for tunnels.
For example, for spark boxes, put CONFIG_TUN=m to file linux-sh4-2.6.32.59-0211_spark.config

I will upload later ipk file for openvpn sh4 to put in your feed.

Is allready done. See OpenVPN Plugin at "Plugins" Section.
But a openvpn ipk would be great with GUI.

I can't find any openvpn plugin in HDMU, at least for Spark platform that I am checking.
