HDMU 11482 and hard disk usb

hello to all
I have a problem with my dec and the hard disk usb
I have a Amiko Alien shd-8900 with HDMU 11482, when I connect my usb hard disk, a toshiba with capacity to 1Tb, if I try to format it a few seconds after the start gives me an error message: "timeout elapsed "


can you help me to solve this problem?
in my computer I do not have linux installed but only windows 7

May I know what are the differences / improvements of the latest version. At this time, coupled with oscam I am finding it very well.

Please check the changelogs for all additions that have been added between your release and the most recent version. Besides many other changes one of the biggest improvements is that the system uses ffm for local videos because some users did complain that gst did create distortions when playing certain video file formats. In addition the performance has been tuned etc.
You could use morly's tool to create a backup of your current image and if for some reason you would experience difficulties with the newest image you can still revert back to the old image.

ok I'll give it a try and see how it goes. Only two more questions about the plugin:
1) I know this is very subjective but ... what are the plugins "indispensable"?
2) I noticed that installing vhannibal this has remained at April 14, 2013 .... on their site, however, is dated October 31, 2013 .... is there a way to update the list automatically or without the risk of compromising the image HDMU?

As you already said the first topic is hard to answer, depending on your needs (assuming that I got your question correct here) but the plain image is already containing the essential parts, only oscam (and picons) is/are needed. But feel free to explore the feed for items like mediaportal etc.
About 2nd item I have to admit that I do not have the slightest idea what vhannibal is so I hope someone else can answer.

As it is on the feed I would definitely give it a try but maybe there is someone around who has experience with it? One option could be to do another backup via morly's tool (does not take too long) before you install it just to ensure that you can revert easily in case it would create problems. But please note that the backup function only works if you have a hard disk attached to your box (but I assume that this is the case here).

Ok i format the hard disk in ext3 via spark but Now the problem is :

How Now can i use the hard disk via USB in my tv on bedroom?

I try to format in various filesystem :

fat32: Can I have files under 4 GB. Yesterday I recorded a movie that lasted three hours and came a file of 13 Gb

NTSF: I tried but I do not know why there were no recorded files

ext3: everything works but on the PC with Windows and on television (I think) I can not use

NTFS is not supportet. Best is ext3 or better ext4. You can use it with Windows, don't know the name of, try to goggle for ext drivers for windows.

Why do you want to connect it to your TV, you can do everythink with the box.

He means an other tv, in bedroom.

Recordings from Box will not work on tv.
You can create 2 partitions on HDD, 1 ext4 for recordings, 1 ntfs for your tv.

Maybe your tv will only show the ntfs Part, hdmu will only mount the ext Part to media/hdd, but you don't see the same files.

The best way is buy a secound Box or HDD.

How did you do it in the past, I mean with the 11482 as that release did also not support NTFS partitions? Since your TV seems to be able to play local files it might have also network/dlna capabilities. In that case you could try to enable the DLNA server on your box and connect from your TV to it. Just an idea, have not tested this and cannot guarantee that you will succeed but it is worth a try :)
