Ther are two popular ways ( all of them need i-net )
1) install via MorlysAdminTool
2) on your remote :
Menu -> Plugins -> green button to download Plugins -> with the cursor down to media -> open with ok -> search for EMC and install

edit 2 : formated my rainbow Line usb-stick into ntfs, put one file on it and media center found it direktly
