Online update in HDMU Center

Hello fellow HDMU-bees,

Has anyone had positive experiences with the online update functionality in the HDMU center? I have been trying this to no avail. It kills the SAB triple entirely when doing it and the only way to recover is reflashing by usb.
I am using HDMU 12685 now, which has some problems (bouquet list sometimes goes to radio and it isnt possible to switch to TV pressing 0, Display on the box acts erratic). I''m hoping to update without reinstalling all my plugins and stuff.

What would be the best way to use this functionality?

Ehm i feel like a total n00b. I dont know where i can see which version. I dont seem to have the zipped file anywhere. I do have the image unpacked on my usb stick.
