NO SOUND ON HD CHANNELS ON EUTELSAT 5 West A (5.0W)

can someone help me to fix this problem :
i'm using HDMU image for spark ( TRUMAN 1er + )
i've noticed that was no sound on HD channels on this only SAT EUTELSAT 5 West A (5.0W)

I'm not familiar with you box but I assume that its an sh4 spark based receiver - if so;

This is an issue with the audio.elf for HDMU - and ATV, VIX24 etc - the dolby 2.0+ format used by the French broadcasters isn't decoded so no sound on HD channels for any French HD channel (except ARTE!) either via TNT, Fransat or TNTSat - the only image I know of that can decode French HD channel audio is PKT V4. Unless and until HDMU/ATV/VIX24 fix the version of audio.elf they are using the only solution is to ;

1. Install PKT V4 - which is an excellent image if you aren;t fixated on using HDMU

2. Alternatively you can try replacing the audio.elf provided by HDMU with the audio.elf from the PKT image (in /Boot) which will give you HD sound on French channles with HDMU.

thank's, kind of you to answer me so quickly, I know that the PKT's gets the sound, I have already tried but I'm a fan of HDMU image. If you could show me exactly the path and files to replace on my HDMU would be great ! wanna keep it! the both PKT & HDMU images are openpli based so it can works .

problem solved ;)
I backed my HDMU, installed the PKT v4, took audio.elf file from /boot
reinstalled my backup... injected the famous file ... everything works nickel I've finally sound on HD CHANNELS ON SAT EUTELSAT 5 West A (5.0W) !!!

Good result - now wouldn't it be good if HDMU would sort out their audio.elf so those of us who watch French TV didn't have to mess about like this?

I have the same problem with HDMU and PKT
with AT 7500

Only works with the PKT audio.elf if PCM downmix is on - assuming you have an AV amp or a soundbar and are trying to listen to multi channel audio then it won't work.

I haven;t tried the latest HDMU image though so it might be worth trying that.

This problem exists in HDMU. OpenATV and VIX4sh4 images which I guess all use the same audio.elf PKT is the only image I have found that can decode French HD channel audio although only in stereo with PCM downmix on.
