Hi @morly & @bonkel
I think that the problem of the new kernel is due to its greater size than previous ... if it exceeds the area of the partition already initialized to 00h (FFh the rest) ...
I believe that you can not immediatly use the [dd] command for write it ... but you should first initialize (erase) the effective area that will occupy the kernel image !!!
In fact, using the YAMON (pflash write) console to write on the partition /dev/mtdblock4 is need to specify the length of the image file !!!
Unfortunately, for kernel write step you can not handle with the original (Sigma) binary module "update" to AZB (that could to add at Box Tools) ... because at the end of writing procedure it automatically restarts the box ... and of course you can not do a check CRC before !
Unless you have the source code, modify routine (cut off reboot) and recompile it on new linux system environment !!!
Ciao ...
thx arci, will check it!!!
Hi @morly
I read the message ... and not forgotten!
When I find a bit of time ... we will clarify and also tackle the other features !
Ciao ...
thx - would be great
regarding flashing the kernel:
writing '/dev/mtdblock4': No space left on device
the mtd4 part is simply too small for this kernel!
NEWEST IMAGE HDMU_13992:
Kernel: ULK-3.3.1
Kernel size: 6842368 (6.53Mb)
KERNEL PARTITION SIZE:
Disk /dev/ mtdblock4 : 6 MB, 6815744 bytes
cool - the crc and backup function worked great
