Where is 8188eu.ko ???

Hi all,

Today I updated my GM 990 reloaded with HDMU_14493_E2_spark_217_git_4037_nodebug_mix_Flash .zip (http://images.hdmedia-universe.com/spark/HDMU_14493_E2_spark_217_git_4037_nodebug_mix_Flash .zip).
Everything went well offcourse, but came across 1 big problem afterwards...

I want to make a wlan connection and then I saw this...

When you ftp to /lib/modules you find there the installed wlan drivers. I see 6 drivers installed: 8188eu.ko, 8192cu.ko, 8712cu.ko, rt2870sta.ko, rt3070sta.ko and rt5370sta.ko
Now I want to select for my TL-WN725N adapter the 8188eu driver in systemcontrol but there is 8188eu missing??? Am I making a mistake or is there something wrong with the image?

I hope some1 can make me happy cause I dont like wires hanging over the stairs....

Maybe someone with an older git then me can check if he can select 8188eu in systemcontrol menu?

Probably not. I checked on older file responsible for this and an entry for the 8188eu.ko is missing. I guess the module 8188eu.ko was added in the image at some point, but it was forgotten to adapt HDMU_SystemControl.py. If you want to correct it yourself you have to decompyle HDMU_SystemControl.pyo, edit the 818eu.ko in and install the modified .py. Otherwise wait until this is picked up by the HDMU team.

Ok, today I found the location from the HDMU_SystemControl.pyo file. I decompiled it to HDMU_SystemControl.pyo_DIS wich is actualy a .txt file so I could change the content inside it. But how can I recompile it again?

Rename the decompiled File in .py and copy back.
Recompile make the system. Before renaming the old file in .bak.


...restart your GUI.

That did the trick Chris. Now I can see the 8188eu driver also in the Systemcontrol menu. Even I can configurate my wlan network now, although the wlan adapter cant see my network somehow. Anyway, I am almost done and just want to ask the developers to fix this problem in the next git.

Ich kann NUR nach Aktivierung des Treibers 8188eu das Netzwerk konfigurieren, jedoch nach dem Speichern ist das Wlan Netzwerk nicht aktiviert, selbst nach einem Neustart ist das Wlan Netzwerk deaktiviert.

TL-WN725n V2.1 wurde vorher über Windows im Netzwerk aktiviert und funktioniert einwandfrei.

Jemand ne Idee?

lsusb << in telnet ausführen und hier die ausgabe reinschreiben, was unter Windows läuft muss unter linux-receiver noch lange nicht laufen.

Eine *.ko file kann man nicht einfach so für alle Receiver reinkopieren, das muss für jeden receiver gebaut werden. Anderer Kernel und auch andere kernel konfigs macht es inkompatibel.
