GPT Partitionierung Seagate 4TB

Ergebnisse 12210 gpt-test:

Testimage auf 160GB HDD / 4TB an USB = 4TB Platte wird erkannt, kann aber nicht formattiert oder überprüft werden (wie Topfield)
Testimage auf USB / 4TB an Sata intern = Bootet nicht (lädt eine weile, bleibt dann bei Booting stehen, wie bei den anderen Images)

Schade, ich dachte das die 4TB Platte am USB Port richtig erkannt wird.

I tried this first too, but got same results
But having 2x 2TB partitions on same drive is pretty good for me.

I also tried to split the 4TB Drive into 2 parts (Seagate Disc Wizard: created two separate dynamic drives, both with mbr and ext2), but the Topfield did not install anything (hungs up at install routine).

I made the 4TB WDC GPT in windows (nothing else)
Then did a clean install of HDMU 12140 (last FW where OK button has channel list)
HDMU then made 3 partitions (1.64TB) as normal
It left the rest of the drive blank
I then went to Ubuntu and partiioned a 2TB (2097151MB exactly,2097152MB is too big ), left a little spare space.
All the partitions (4x) are primary, seems to work best.
I use JFS (since I helped with development for it over at AAF board), but ext2/3/4 shoud also work.

I have done like you said, but the TF7700 wont accept the software update (USB Retry..USB failed if 4TB HDD is installed)

Probably your 4TB WD drive is more compatible or you TF7710 use other uboot or other Sata Controller.

Even if I set-up the HDD with MBR (Win7), the same result.
The uboot 1.3.3 needs to be rewritten for seamless operating. I think the Startsector of 2048 is a problem too.
What a pitty that it's even not possible with USB operation (4TB at USB port) with gpt test image installed.

OK, das werde ich demnächst nochmal probieren. Zum Thema NAS: Gibt es da vielleicht eine interne Lösung, also eine von den abmaßen her kleine NAS Controller Platine, so das ich die Festplatte im Gerät belassen kann und ein Kabel zum Ethernet-port hinausführe?

Wenn du die HDD intern hattest, hast du dann auch die bootargs verändert?
Was für Befehle hast du im Telnet so probiert?

TF7710 is the same as TF7700 (motherboard even says TF7700) TF7710 was for a different market forget which one
SATA controller is probably part of the processor, so setops with this CPU should have the same HDD compatibility.

I did the format again, I think HDMU USB setup makes the drive MBR when it partitions, no matter what you set drive to before hand.
I've found that you have to make RECORD partition = JFS
If you use any other FS then when you try to make the 2nd 2TB partition it won't work.
2nd 2TB partition also has to be JFS or again it won't work, I set this via Ubuntu GParted.

Bitte entschuldigt, das ich dieses "alte" Thema nochmal ausgrabe.

Mir ergab sich kürzlich die Möglichkeit, einen weiteren Test durchzuführen.
Da der IPBox9000 uboot keine GPT Unterstützung für die interne Festplatte mitbringt, fällt dieses Thema raus.

Jedoch habe ich das HDMU Image inzwischen auf der internen Festplatte (SDA1 = HDMU, SDA2 = Mediendateien).
Daher wurde der USB Port zum testen frei. Da exFat offensichtlich keine Unterstützung findet, habe ich meine externe 4TB Festplatte ASMT1053 nach NTFS (GPT) formattiert und Daten draufgepackt (Einteilung der USB-Gehäusehardware = 512 Byte/Sektor).

Offenbar erkennt die GPT-Testversion, als auch die aktuellste HDMU Version, die USB Festplatte.
Die Größe wird korrekt angezeigt, auch die Partition der ASMT1053 wird erkannt. Jedoch zeigt HDMU keine Daten darauf an und erkennt "-1 MB" freien Speicher, was jedoch falsch ist. Entweder wird GPT fehlerhaft unterstützt oder die NTFS Unterstützung funktioniert nicht einwandfrei. Eventuell gibt es künftig einen Fix dafür, wäre natürlich klasse. Siehe Bilder:

Ntfs für sh4 boxen ist grausam, deswegen nicht im Image.
Gpt hatten wir in einigen Kernel aktiviert, bin aber nicht sicher ob auch bei der 9000
