New poster needs help, please?

Evening folks,

My first post so please be kind!

My mother has my old satellite box which is an Icecrypt S3600HD (can use Octagon 1008SE images) & she uses it for Freesat and has a freeview Sky UK card in it. It's running the latest standard firmware and bootloader from Icecrypt.

I plan to try and get it booting a new HDMU E2 image for her by USB but I have some questions... (she doesn't have an internet connection)

Does anyone know how to produce 28.2E Freesat settings bouquet lists in .ipk format, that I can put on the box via usb stick?
Or, can anyone advise if HDMU images now have an auto bouquet plugin pre-installed?
If not, could a kind person post an .ipk file for it on here?

I intend to install Oscam but will it need a config file to read the card & update the entitlements?
If so, can the config file be installed by usb?
Also, should the file be blank as she doesn't need to open premium channels?

do you also own a box with a new HDMU image? if so install the channellist there, create a backup and upload it on your mother's box...
chlist for 28.2E can be found on our feed...

Hi Morly, thank you for the welcome.

My own box is a Technomate TM2T which I don't think is supported by HDMU? It's running an OpenVix E2 image.
The main problem is that my Mum doesn't have the internet at home,so I must either;
1)set up the box in my house and then take it to her
or 2) save all the files (auto bouquet, oscam) on to USB as .ipk?

first choice would be the best solution
otherwise use plain ftp (notebook) for storing and uploading the settings files... no need to create ipk's

don't forget to create a full backup of your mother's box - just in case

So, the image has to be booted by USB at the front or back of the box and cannot be installed in the flash memory.
If I set up all the plugins and settings she needs at my house, will they all be saved? Hope that's not a silly question, as it's a long drive to her house!

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a beginners guide to Oscam please? The card to be read is a free Sky UK card with no subscription.

can sky uk still be run in oscam? different pairing there? (I know they have pairing as well - but somehow different then we have - but still possible running the card via oscam???)

Hi Morly,

Sky UK HD channels only work with an official box and paired card but SD and some free to air channels do still work with E2 boxes running CCCam, MGcamd or Oscam. I know how to use CCCam and MGcamd but am I right in saying that HDMU image doesn't support them, only Oscam? If that is true, then some help in setting up Oscam for a first time user would be appreciated please? Thanks.
